Sasa Ilic is best remembered by Charlton fans for a match-winning penalty shootout save against Sunderland in the 1998 play-off final.

Ilic, whose other English clubs include West Ham, Portsmouth and Leeds, owns the stunning Monte Bay Retreat, set in idyllic Perast.

The boutique hotel, which was opened by the two-cap former Yugoslavia keeper ten years ago, offers six unique bedrooms.

Prices at Monte Bay Retreat start at £170-per-night. Ilic was inspired to open a hotel after going to a detox retreat himself. He then got on his motorbike from London and rode there to set it up.

Ilic said: 'We provide a five star service, but with a more intimate feel. I greet everybody, see them off. I usually will welcome them with the local drink, rakija, and then we see them off with a big hug and a kiss.'

He wanted it to be open to all guests, not just those doing detox, and they can enjoy activities including yoga and fine dining. Although Ilic closes it for five months a year, this is so he can go away with his own wife and kids.
