Strictly's fiercest backstage feuds

It's not always smiles behind the scenes on Strictly Come Dancing. Over the years, the hit BBC show has been dogged by a number of rumoured feuds and backstage spats.

In 2018, reports emerged that BBC bosses had to warn Danny John-Jules about “bullying” behaviour towards Amy Dowden. Danny was said to be furious at being painted as the villain and shunned backstage.

Danny Dyer and James Jordan got into a bitter war of words in 2015 after the EastEnders star was pictured supporting his on-screen wife Kellie Bright. As the spat intensified, Danny accused the former Strictly pro of living off the earnings of wife Ola.

Reports of tension between professional dancers Katya Jones and Nadiya Bychkova emerged while the dancers were on the Arena tour last year. Sources told The Sun Katya, 32, was unhappy with the attention Nadiya was getting.

A backstage battle between Ola Jordan and Kristina Rihanoff was said to be behind both pros leaving in 2016. “Ola and Kristina were friends but jealousy took over,” a Strictly insider told The Sun.

Judge Craig Revel Horwood and fiery dancer Brendan Cole frequently locked horns on screen with the former champ challenging critiques. "We hated each other," Craig later admitted.

Presenter Fern Britton had a frosty relationship with partner Artem Chigvintsev in 2012. Three years later she claimed the Russian pro used to “kick” and “shove” her during rehearsals. He denied the claims.
