PlayStation owners receive free PS5 controller upgrade that finally matches up to Xbox
ONLINE gaming platform Steam has made it easier for PlayStation owners to use their controllers to play PC titles.
PlayStation gamers have long wrestled with Steam and the ability to find games that fully support DualShock and DualSense controllers.
The gaming platform caters very well to Xbox controllers, but fewer games are compatible with PS4 and PS5 handhelds.
Now, a recent Steam update offers a better filter for PlayStation games to more easily navigate the platform.
The controller-hub on Steam has been enhanced to allow users to search by controller type.
There’s even another set of filters that lets players include specific models for Xbox, DualShock, and DualSense controllers.

Then there are settings to find games that are built with those controllers in mind.
Title pages for games will also have a clearer compatibility information section for users.
PlayStation gamers who play best with a controller on PC will no longer have to settle for an Xbox configured handheld.
DualShock and DualSense controllers have gained full support, too.

This means gamers can navigate through the menus and into the game and play without having to switch to a mouse and keyboard.
Previously, controllers with partial support couldn't use most of the controllers’ features.
This includes the touchpad and haptic feedback.
Although Steam notes: “Full Controller Support does not necessarily mean that the game makes use of every feature on the controllers.”
