Victorian seaside town forgotten by tourists tipped to be hot holiday destination in 2024
THE UK isn't short of amazing seaside resorts - and one town is set to become even more popular next year.
Cornwall and Kent are some of the much-loved coastal destinations that attract thousands of tourists.
However, Sussex's Hastings is on the up, with a number of new attractions and hotels opening next year.
It was once voted the "worst weekend stay" in the country by Which? with the town's food and drink scene, as well as its accommodation rated poorly.
But Hasting's is now on the up, with a recent study revealing house prices to be soaring compared to other seaside resorts.
The seafront is now home to multicoloured beach shacks, selling coffees and freshly caught fish.

And the new Vive Hotel, with 98 rooms, is to attract even more tourists too, following a collaboration with the ex-owner of Es Vive in Ibiza.
Don't worry if you fancy a cheaper stay - Hastings has both Premier Inn and Travelodge hotels with stays from £32 a night.
But the town's main attraction is Hastings Pier, which was awarded the Stirling Prize for architecture in 2017, while just next door is the lesser-known Bottle Alley, a 1930s underpass with multicoloured lights made from broken bottles.
Otherwise during the summer months, the sand and shingle Hastings Beach is where most tourists flock.

Make sure to grab the East Cliff Railway too, the steepest funicular in the UK.
Otherwise the Old Town can't be missed, with George Street home to lots of individual shops and cafes, selling interiors, clothes and food.
People have raved about the town, with one saying it's like "going back in time".
Another said it had the "best fish and chips ever" at the Dolphin Fish Bar.
One of the best restaurants is Remy's Cafe Kulinaraya, given hundreds of five-star reviews on TripAdvisor for its Asian cuisine, along with the Mediterranean Yaaze Meze Bar and Monellis, serving sourdough pizzas.
Trains to Hastings from London take just under two hours, with tickets from £6.
It's not the only seaside town set to be the next big thing in the UK.
Littlestone-on-Sea in Kent is often overlooked by the nearby Folkestone, but is set to open a trendy new hotel next year.
And Brean is expected to be popular in 2024, with an award-winning holiday park and one of the longest sandy beaches in Europe.
