It will feature a 100ft drop tower as well as a brand new confectionery store.

THORPE PARK has revealed that visitors will have a whole new land to explore when it reopens its doors next year.

The theme park is currently closed until March 2024, but is already enticing its guests with news of brand new attractions.

Earlier this month, the resort announced that it would be saying goodbye to its Angry Birds land, which had been at the park for ten years.

However, that area will now be replaced by Big Easy Boulevard, a New Orleans-themed land, promising "epic thrills" and "laughter-packed rides" as well as a 4D cinema.

Concept artwork released by Thorpe Park shows new facades in the style of Louisiana Creole architecture, which will be put up throughout the new area.

A fireworks factory, a gas station and other props will add to the area's theme.

Those pictures were accompanied by a statement announcing exactly what visitors can expect when they visit Big Easy Boulevard next year.

Detonator, a drop tower ride that sends people plummeting 100ft, remains in the area from the Angry Birds land and has been rebranded to fit in with its new surroundings.

Meanwhile, the dodgems have also been retained and incorporated as part of the new design.

The 4D cinema will offer a "thrilling multi-sensory experience" with a "captivating world of sights, sounds, and surprises" from its brand new film.

A new shop called Candy Pips Sweet Easy will have "sweet treats from floor to ceiling".

The statement reads: "Step Into Big Easy Boulevard and Let the Good Times Roll.

"Take a stroll down Big Easy Boulevard and immerse yourself in the carefree atmosphere and exhilarating energy that fills the street.

"Here, life is a breeze as the locals have mastered the art of not taking things too seriously. It's the perfect place to let loose, seize the moment, and create unforgettable memories with your friends and family."

The park is set to reopen on Sunday, March 24, 2024. Whether or not Big Easy Boulevard will be ready for opening day is not clear, with Thorpe Park saying it will be ready in Spring 2024.

The news was shared on the park's Facebook page and was received well by fans.

One wrote: "It looks great! Loving the theme!"

Another said: "I really like this and look forward to seeing it next year. It's good to see an original theme."

A third added: "I just Love it, it looks absolutely perfect."

Big Easy Boulevard is far from the only new attraction set to be unveiled at Thorpe Park next year, with the UK's tallest and fastest rollercoaster Hyperia also set to open.

It will reach heights of 236ft and will travel at more than 80mph.

It will feature some of the highest inversions in Europe, and will also have a "splash down" element towards the end, for which the coaster will splash into a lake that will be surrounding the ride.

The new rollercoaster will be Thorpe Park’s first major addition since The Swarm in 2012.
