ITV will become the free-to-air home of Under the Banner of Heaven, starring ex-Spiderman Andrew Garfield, and season one of British comedy series Extraordinary.

Both shows will launch in the first half of 2024.

Under the Banner of Heaven will  stream on ITVX with Extraordinary airing on both ITVX and ITV2.

ITVX was created as a replacement for the old ITV Hub app which has since been officially retired as a brand.

You can watch ITV channels with on-demand content, with a focus on exclusives.

Under the Banner of Heaven was created by Academy Award-winner Dustin Lance Black alongside stars Andrew Garfield and Daisy Edgar-Jones.

The series was inspired by the true crime bestseller by Jon Krakauer, and follows the events that led to the 1984 murder of Brenda Wright Lafferty and her baby daughter in a suburb in the Salt Lake Valley, Utah.

Meanwhile, comedy series Extraordinary, a Disney+ UK original production, was written by series creator and co-executive producer Emma Moran and executive produced by Sally Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris and Charles Dawson.

It is set in a world where everyone develops a power on their 18th birthday, except for Jen, played by Mairead Tyers.

The series sees 25-year-old Jen adrift in a big, confusing world and armed with nothing but a bit of hope, desperation, and her flatmates as she begins her journey to find her superpower.

Both series will also continue to be made available on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland.

Extraordinary season 2 coming to the platform in early 2024.

It comes as Disney+ cancelled The Muppets Mayhem, the latest series in the Muppet-verse.

The move came after just one season despite rave reviews from critics and protests from fans.

Fans are now raging against the streamer for taking the Muppet series off air.

Meanwhile, a legendary film franchise that was axed by Netflix has now reportedly found a new home with a rival streamer.

The superhero movie series was cancelled in July by the streaming giant after it reportedly spent $30 million in development for it.

Now, according to Variety it's said to have been picked up by Amazon.
