AN AMERICAN woman has been slated for visiting an 'authentic' British fish and chip shop in the US, with people pointing out the bizarre way she ate the fish.

Amber Kacherian posted a video about her experience visiting Little Taste of Britain, located in Layton, Utah, on her TikTok channel, where she is known as @amberkacherian.

Opening the video, Amber showed viewers the restaurant's interior, with each of the restaurant's drab looking booths named after a different town in the UK.

Union Jack bunting was strung across the ceiling and there was a picture of the late Queen Elizabeth II in pride of place on the wall.

"Of course, I had to go play with the phone box", Amber said, before gleefully hopping out of a Doctor Who style Police Call Box.

On display in the restaurant were 'authentic' British sweets and cake such as 'shortbread buttons' (anyone ever heard of these?).

Amber ordered fish and chips from the restaurant, but was confused about how to eat it.

"This is good fish", she said, picking the whole fish up with her fingers and munching it like it was a burger.

"The fish and chips comes with vinegar, but what exactly is the vinegar for?" Amber said, before her friend dipped his chip into an entire pot of vinegar, and then spat out the food in disgust.

Another thing that Amber was confused by was mushy peas, which, when served to her, looked like they had been blended until there wasn't any peas left.

"Why mush them?", Amber asked, looking unimpressed, "Why not just eat them whole, like in regular pea form?".

TikTok users rushed to the video's comments section to slate both Amber and the authenticity of the restaurant.

One user said: "That restaurant has been decorated by someone who has never seen or been to the UK."

Slamming the way Amber ate her food, another user said: "OMG! The horror of eating the fish with your hands".

A third person added: "Being British I nearly had a heart attack when you dipped the chips in the vinegar".
