A WOMAN has proudly shown off her beautiful, colourful home on social media - but has been met with mixed opinions.

Rachel, the DIY queen, has given her home a stunning makeover, whilst on a shoestring budget.

She explained that she owns her ex-council house and is a fan of ‘dopamine decor’ - interiors with an emphasis on cheerfulness, self-expression, colour and creativity.

Rachel loves her maximalist home and not only are her walls complete with stunning wallpaper, but she’s also painted her ceiling too.

Her furniture and accessories are super colourful too - with plants pictures, mirrors and rugs galore.

However, whilst many have described Rachel’s home as “beautiful”, mean trolls have said it looks like a “school art project” and is “too claustrophobic.”

Posting on social media, Rachel revealed: “I’ve been lucky to have a really positive experience online.

“I do get people who tell me my home is too colourful, too claustrophobic or ‘looks like a high school art project’.

"But I think as long as you and those living with you are happy with your home, then that’s the only opinion that counts!”

But the DIY enthusiast won’t let the haters get her down, as she later wrote: “POV: You don’t care what the internet thinks, your home is your family’s happy place.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @the_shoestring_home, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 50,000 views.

But despite the nasty comments Rachel has previously received from online haters, social media users were eager to compliment the woman’s home.

One person said: “It’s too fabulous for words! If you aren’t a designer you should be.”

Another added: “Absolutely!!! It's your happy place so nobody else's opinion matters. I for one, LOVE it.”

A third commented: “If you lived near me I'd contract you to decorate my house. You've done fab work there.”

Whilst someone else penned: “Your home is BEAUTIFUL.”

But this isn’t the first time we’ve heard from Rachel about her home.

Rachel previously claimed that she is “so grateful” for her council house

She explained: "You grew up hearing people talk down about council estate houses but you are so grateful for yours."

"I’ve heard people be pretty negative about council houses, but we have loved turning ours into our home.
