Why has Jamie Lynn Spears left I'm A Celebrity?

Jamie Lynn Spears has announced her departure from the show, citing medical reasons.

A spokesperson from I'm A Celebrity said: "Jamie Lynn Spears has left I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! on medical grounds.

"She's been a fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities."

This comes after days of tears for Jamie Lynn as she admitted struggling with living away from her family.

It also comes after MasterChef judge Grace Dent announced her departure on similar grounds, just days before.

How long did Jamie Lynn Spears spend in the jungle?

Jamie Lynn Spears entered the jungle at the same time as most of the other campmates, making quite the entrance.

After this she openly admitted her struggles with being apart from her children: Maddie, 15, and Ivey, 5.

She was seen in tears on numerous occasions in camp, with her other celebrity pals doing their best to lift her spirits.

Jamie Lynn also took part in Bushtucker trials, most recently the Dreaded Bed challenge where she was forced to remain in a room of the Misery Motel full of snakes, alongside Frankie Dettori, but utterly failed.

It left camp feeling desperate, and The Sun told how bosses feared more stars could follow Grace's example and quit.

Altogether, Jamie Lynn left after just 10 days in the jungle.

Jamie-Lynn lasted longer in I'm A Celebrity than her fellow campmate - Grace Dent - who departed days before and has already landed back in the UK.

The MasterChef critic left on medical grounds, after taking part in trials that saw her need quick medical attention.

It was also claimed Grace 'lost all her energy' before deciding to quit, with ITV bosses forced to step in to help her.

However, despite leaving early, Grace will receive her full wage having completed the minimum requirement of 72 hours in the jungle.

As a result, Jamie Lynn is likely to receive the same treatment, with her salary for the show set at a reported £250,000.
